What is MyPass?

MyPass, which is available to kids 17 and younger, allows unlimited rides on SamTrans buses all summer long for only $35 – less than the cost of a tank of gas. The 2008 My Pass is good for travel through Aug. 31.

The MyPass is a win-win for kids and parents. Learning to use public transportation teaches kids important life-skills such as how to read a map, plan a social outing and make the best use of their time. And, parents get a vacation from driving the neighborhood carpool.

With a MyPass, there is no need to keep correct change on hand. Even after a trip to the mall, kids still have a safe ride home. The colorful plastic flash-pass can be carried in a wallet or back pack or attached to a key ring.

How to Buy SamTrans Youth Passes

The sales period for the 2008 SamTrans Summer Youth Pass ended on July 15, but the pass is still good for travel through Aug. 31.

Regular August SamTrans Youth Passes, which are valid Aug. 1, will be available for purchase for just $29 between July 21 and Aug. 7. You can buy an August pass at any SamTrans vendor, which includes schools and dozens of stores and businesses.

You also can buy SamTrans passes in-person at the SamTrans office at 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos, between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Or you can order a pass by credit card through the Pass Sales office at 650-508-6292. You can also sign up for the Ticket-by-Mail program so your pass can be automatically mailed to you each month.
