Media Advisory: SamTrans Offers Sneak Peek of New
Articulated Buses
What:
SamTrans will be showcasing its new articulated buses during an open house event. The
media and general public are invited to preview the bus and take a free ride. The new
buses, which will operate on Routes 390 and 391 along El Camino Real, use ultra low
emission fuel and offer a smoother ride with more comfortable seats.
When:
Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 12:45 p.m.
The sneak peek bus ride will depart SamTrans at 1:25 p.m. and return by 1:45 p.m.
Another trip will depart at 1:50 p.m. and return by 2:10 p.m.
Who:
The media and general public are invited to join the SamTrans Board of Directors for
a VIP ride on the new articulated bus.
Where:
SamTrans Headquarters
1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos
The event will take place in front of the SamTrans building. Parking is located in
the parking structure behind the district's offices.
Why:
The new articulated buses will be replacing the existing fleet of disparate buses
that are on average 15 years old. Because the new fleet of North American Bus
Industries articulated buses is identical, maintenance and operator training will be
streamlined. This will result in a continued focus on safety and efficiency over time.
