SamTrans Seeks Community Representatives
The San Mateo County Transit District is looking for six volunteers for its Citizens
Advisory Committee to represent the community.
The ideal candidates can represent community interests, which interact with
SamTrans' fixed-route service. Each representative brings a unique perspective to
the committee. Among the six volunteers needed include advocates for SamTrans bus
riders, community advocates and representatives speaking for San Mateo County's
multiple modes of transit.
The 15-member CAC acts in an advisory capacity to the SamTrans Board of Directors.
Responsibilities include providing input on the needs of transit users and informing
county residents of transit programs.
Applications
(PDF, 7.7 KB) are available at SamTrans, 1250 San Carlos Ave., in San Carlos or by
calling (650) 508-6300 or (TDD only) (650) 508-6448. Deadline for applications is
March 14.
Applicants do not need to be residents of San Mateo County. However, when making
appointments to the CAC, the transit district may give preference to county residents
if such preference could result in a more informed membership.
The CAC meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the district's central
office in San Carlos. All meetings are open to the public.
