Transit District Seeks Comment on Strategic Plan
The San Mateo County Transit District is seeking public input on its draft Strategic Plan. The plan will serve as the District’s framework for the next five years as it continues to serve the public and meet the changing and growing needs of the people who live and work in San Mateo County.
The District has worked with a number of different stakeholder groups to pull together the plan, which targets six key focus areas: financial integrity, multimodal services, transportation and land use, customers, business practices and employees.
A key ingredient in developing a successful plan is to receive input from those who benefit from the service and agency: the customers and community. The public can review the plan HERE. Comments, which are due by Nov. 19, can be sent to strategicplan@samtrans.com or to San Mateo County Transit District Strategic Plan, Attn: Planning and Development Dept., P.O. Box 3006, San Carlos, CA 94070-1306. The plan will be presented to the District’s Board of Directors for action in December.
The Transit District operates the SamTrans bus service, Redi-Wheels paratransit service for persons with disabilities and funds shuttle services that link key employment centers with BART and Caltrain service. The Transit District also is the managing agency for Caltrain and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority.
