Paratransit
Paratransit is for persons with disabilities who cannot independently use regular SamTrans bus service
some of the time or all of the time. The San Mateo County Transit District provides paratransit using
Redi-Wheels on the bayside of the county and RediCoast on the coastside.
Trips must be prearranged.
All of SamTrans' buses are accessible, and many persons with disabilities are able to use the regular fixed-route bus service.
However, if you are unable to use fixed-route transit for some or all of your trips, you may be eligible for paratransit.

SamTrans offers an incentive to paratransit customers. Redi-Wheels and RediCoast ADA certified and their personal care attendants within Zone A and trips beginning or ending in San Francisco on Routes 292, 391, and 397 ride FREE and pay the Senior/Disabled Fare on Express Routes KX, DX FX, MX, NX, PX and RX.
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, better known as ADA, is federal legislation that guarantees persons with disabilities full and equal access to the same services and accommodations that are available to people without disabilities.
The ADA requires public transit operators to provide paratransit service to persons with disabilities that is comparable to the level of fixed-route service provided. Persons with disabilities who cannot independently ride fixed-route transit may be eligible for paratransit service.
Reservations are available with the paratransit program for certified customers.
